Cheyenne Williamson Champion Women's Heptathlon and High Jump, 8th Place Long Jump - NCAA D2 Outdoor Championships 2023

Cheyenne Williamson, a junior at Saginaw Valley State University, became the first female athlete to win three consecutive heptathlon titles at the NCAA Division 2 Championships with a lifetime-best 5,861 points at Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl Stadium in Pueblo, Colo. Williamson, who elevated to the No. 4 competitor in the heptathlon in division history, also won her first high jump crown with a second-attempt clearance at 5-9.75 (1.77m). Williamson, who added an eighth-place effort in the long jump with a wind-legal leap of 19-11.75 (6.09m), increased her career national title haul to nine, including two indoor pentathlon championships, as well as indoor crowns in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump, along with an outdoor 4x400-meter relay victory in 2021. Williamson also qualified for the 100-meter hurdles final with a wind-aided 13.59 performance.
