Sam Black, an NCAA Division 2 champion at Saginaw Valley State competing unattached, finished second in the men's heptathlon with 5,866 points as the top six finishers in the competition achieved new career best scorers in the event at the USATF Indoor Championships Presented by BD at The Podium in Spokane, Wash.
